Nomination Process

To become a Chamber of Commerce Board Member, you must fill out the Board Member Nomination Application and the Board Member Commitment to Serve and submit to chamber@huntsvillewalkerchamber.com by August 15. Your application will then be reviewed by the current Nominating Committee according to the schedule below.

2024 Nominating Timeline

Selection of New Chamber Board Members for 2025-2027

  • July 15 - Send procedures for nomination and election to total membership 30 days prior to such nominations and elections.
  • July 15 - "Call for applications" goes into the Chamber Connection weekly email.
  • July 18 - Chair Elect selects Nominating Committee and heads up Nomination Committee. Nomination form and policies reviewed/updated.
  • July 31 - 2nd "call for application goes into the Chamber Connection weekly email.
  • August 15 - Deadline for applications.
  • August 16-31 - Nominating Committee reviews applications, selects slate of candidates, interviews candidates, and confirms their intentions.
  • September 16 - Nominating Committee finalizes nominations and submits to the Executive Committee for review and recommendation to the full board.
  • September 19 - Slate of nominees reviewed and ratified at board meeting.
